Wendy
Wendy with the birth name Shon Seungwan is a member of the k-pop girl group Red Velvet and Got The Beat formed by SM Entertainment. She is the main vocalist of the group and the only English-speaking member. Wendy made her debut on August 1, 2014, together with three Red Velvet members. Before Wendy became a member of Red Velvet, she was the first part of the predebut group SM Rookies. She also released the track Because I Love You, an OST for the Mnet series Mimi. She was also part of the song’s music video. After debuting as a member of Red Velvet, Wendy also had the chance to have individual schedules. She collaborated with different artists, joined the OSTs of dramas, hosted shows, and more. Wendy is also active in appearing in several variety programs with or without other Red Velvet members. In 2019, Wendy got injured after a stage accident at the rehearsal of the 2019 SBS Gayo Daejeon. She was hospitalized for two months and had her hiatus to recover for more than a year. On January 1, 2021, Wendy finally made his public appearance and concluded her hiatus. Since then, she has been active as a Red Velvet member again. In April 2021, Wendy officially made her solo debut with the album Like Water. In July 2021, Wendy became the main host of the radio program SBS Young Street. In the same month, it was announced that Wendy is part of the regular cast of SNL Korea. In January 2022, She also made a debut in the super girl group from SM Entertainment called Got The Beat together with Red Velvet member Seulgi. In March 2022, Red Velvet returned with their title track “Feel My Rythm” Wendy is signed under SM Entertainment.
