MAMAMOO
MAMAMOO is a South Korean girl group formed by RBW Entertainment. It consists of four members such as Wheein, Hwasa, Solar, and Moonbyul. The group made its official debut on June 18, 2014, with the title track “Mr. Ambiguous.” It was included in their first album titled Hello. The music video for their debut song featured several celebrities such as CNBLUE's Jonghyun, Baek Ji-young, Wheesung, Jung Joon-young, Bumkey, K.Will, and Rhymer. After that, MAMAMOO already snagged an OST deal and they sang for the drama Marriage, Not Dating. MAMAMOO then released the track Piano Man. In June 2015, MAMAMOO released their song Um Oh Ah Yeh from their third album. This time, it finally became a great success. The song became part of the top 3 on several Korean charts. In the same year, they also held their very first solo concert. The group is active in participating in several shows. They also had several collaborations with different singers. In 2016, MAMAMOO finally got their very first music show win with their track You’re The Best. In the same year, MAMAMOO also had unit debuts wherein Solar and Wheein sang the title single Angel and Hwasa and Moonbyul sang Dab Dab. They also debuted in Japan in 2016 with the Japanese version of Decalcomanie. Since then, most of MAMAMOO’s releases became hits. Some of the popular songs from MAMAMOO are Starry Night, Um Oh Ah Yeh, Egotistic, Decalcomanie, Piano Man, and more. In 2019, MAMAMOO joined the program Queendom. The group won on the finale of the program and got awarded a full-length comeback show to be broadcast on Mnet. In 2020, the members focused their careers on solo projects. In 2021, MAMAMOO’s contract with RBW expired. Solar, Moonbyul, and Hwasa all renewed their contracts. Meanwhile, Wheein decided to leave the company. Although she’s no longer part of RBW, Wheein will still promote actively as a MAMAMOO member. In March 2022, MAMAMOO released a Japanese album titled The Best. From their debut up until now MAMAMOO already got 43 awards out of 159 nominations.
