Kim Hyun-joong is a South Korean singer, actor, and leader of the boy band SS501. Born on June 6, 1986, he rose to prominence in the mid-2000s as part of SS501, one of the pioneering K-pop groups that helped spread the Hallyu wave across Asia. The group debuted in 2005 and quickly became known for their polished performances and diverse musical styles, ranging from dance-pop to ballads. After SS501's activities paused in 2010, Kim Hyun-joong embarked on a successful solo career, releasing multiple albums and singles that topped charts across Asia. His solo work showcases a more mature and personal artistic vision, often incorporating rock elements and emotional ballads. He has particularly strong popularity in Japan, where he has released several Japanese albums and held numerous sold-out concerts. Beyond music, Kim Hyun-joong gained massive fame through his acting career, most notably as Yoon Ji-hoo in the hit drama 'Boys Over Flowers' (2009), which became a cultural phenomenon across Asia. He also starred in 'Playful Kiss' (2010) and 'Inspiring Generation' (2014).
