Kim Jongdae popularly known as Chen is a member of the k-pop boy group EXO created by SM Entertainment. He is one of the main vocalists of the group. He was first introduced as an EXO-M member (the Chinese subgroup of EXO). Chen made his official debut on April 8, 2012, with the Chinese version of MAMA. EXO became who they are today after their fame skyrocketed in the XOXO album era. They became famous both in Korea and other parts of the world. Their song Growl became an anthem. This also gave them the title of million sellers. This is their first album to achieve over 1 million sales. They also became the first South Korean artist to reach the milestone after 12 years. Since its debut, EXO has released over 20 albums and counting. They are also now labeled as sextuple million sellers. EXO has received over 23 grand prize awards. EXO has several hit songs such as Growl, Miracles In December, Call Me Baby, Overdose, Love Me Right, Monster, Ko Ko Bop, Love Shot, and more. Aside from being active as an EXO member, Chen also lends his voice to drama OSTs.In 2014, he sang Best Luck for It's Okay, That's Love, in 2016 he sang Everytime for Descendants of the Sun, and more. In 2016, Chen made his debut in EXO’s first subunit. He was part of the group EXO-CBX with Baekhyun and Xiumin. They released their debut track Hey Mama. In 2019, Chen finally made his solo debut. He released his solo album titled April and a Flower. In October of the same year, Chen released his second album titled Dear My Dear. In January 2020, Chen announced that he is getting married to a non-showbiz girlfriend and they are expecting a child. In January 2022, his wife gave birth to their second child. In October 2020, Chen enlisted in the military. In April 2022, he finally got discharged.
