Akdong Musician is a singing duo from YG Entertainment. It consists of siblings Lee Chanhyuk and Lee Suhyun. Chanhyuk and Suhyun first became called as Akdong Musician when they were signed under Proteurment agency. They performed in several stages and their song Galaxy even got the attention of Samsung and was used for its commercial film. In 2012, Chanhyuk and Suhyun joined the competition program K-Pop Star 2. They won first place in the competition. After a year, Akdong Musician consisting of Chanhyuk and Suhyun made their debut through YG Entertainment. On April 7, 2014, Akdong Musician released their debut album Play. All the songs from the album are produced and written by Chanhyuk himself. Their title track 200% topped all Korean charts. Other songs from the album also received great responses. Since then, every release of Akdong Musician became hit. Every song they released, the track will be part of the high rankings in Korean music charts. Some of the popular songs from Akdong Musician are 200%, Give Love, Time and Fallen Leaves, Re-Bye, Dinosaur, and many more. The duo has collaborated with top artists as well such as Yang Hee Eun, Beenzino, IU, Crush, and many more. In 2017, Chanhyuk enlisted in the military. This led to Suhyun promoting as a solo artist. In 2019, Chanhyuk finished his military duties. Akdong Musician returned as a duo and they released their album Sailing. Once again, the title track How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You're the One I Love became a hit. In January 2021, Akdong Musician re-signed with YG Entertainment for 5 more years. In July of the same year, the duo released their album “Next Episode” with several collaborations with top artists.
